This gunm is used in the foods as a thickening agent , stabiliser, glazing agent and emulsifier., and is readily water-soluble.
This is readily waters-soluble and hence is used in thicking the curries in the readymade packs.
Though it is easily digestible by the humans. It may cause some allergic reactions eg. Asthma and skin rashes.
